After a brief meeting at the school about my daughter's school trip to the mainland, I decided to take the longer route back to town & home, via Old Town Bay & Peninnis.
The sea was like glass in Old Town bay and Carn Lea cast an almost perfect reflection in the water.
Onward and up to Pulpit rock on Peninnis, looking like a giant stone age diving board into the sea!
The lighthouse that used to be paraffin fuelled is now made redundant in favour of an LED flashing light; which sadly does not have the majestic sweep of the traditional rotating lens. Progress? I'm not a fan; and the range doesn't emit light as far either.
There's a few loose stones and rocks on the steep paths, so sensible shoes and a steady foot is needed if you take this route.
Flotsam & Jetsam... This old pallet washed up is now jetsam as it's no longer afloat.
