We are a Visit England Accredited Hotel with rooms situated throughout 4 floors. The hotel has no lift due to the grade 2 listed building status meaning we can't make alterations to install one. We will of course, help with luggage though.

Our food is traditional and cooked using fresh produce of fish, meats, vegetables & dairy sourced from Scilly & Cornwall where possible. Our style is not nouvelle cuisine or a fancy Michelin Star type restaurant.

Our experienced staff offer excellent & attentive service, far beyond the normal expectations for a 2 star rated hotel

Our swimming pool is 8 metres x 4 metres and so neither small, or Olympic size! An unusual extra facility compared to even many other hotels. Its size is governed by available space, and is covered in and heated.

Our rooms are comfortable & furnished to the same standard. All are en suite with either bath, shower or both, and some are compact, hence the special offer lower tariff for these.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Hugh Town, at the quieter side and is ideally positioned for easy access to the harbour for inter island boats to the inhabited islands of Tresco, Bryher, St Agnes & St Martins.

I try to post regular photographs of the islands, and you can see more of the hotel in the photo galleries on the right hand side of the page.

Tiger Moth At Peninnis

Saturday 6th July 2013

Whilst up at Peninnis I bumped into Jaclyn Pearson & Tom Scott on a walk for well being organised through the council's Life Long Learning department. They'd found this stunning Tiger Moth along the way and pointed it out to me

St Mary's Coastal Path Resumed!

Saturday 6th July 2013

After yesterday's walk around the the coast of St Mary's I had to cut short at Porth Hellick and take the road back to to as time was running out before I had to get back for work.... So, today I thought it would be a good idea to carry on where I left off!
I headed back out to Porth Hellick on the road and carried on around the coast in a clockwise direction, back around to Old Town, around Peninnis (apologies for the black streak on the lighthouse picture, its my earphones cable!) and into Town. Not content I'd walked far enough I then decided to go around the Garrison so that I'd have completed the whole island in 2 afternoons (just over 4 hours)

St Mary's Coastal Path

Friday 5th July 2013

This is part 2 of my walk around the coast of St Mary's for Friday. These pictures are from Pelistry area around to Porth Hellick. For a change the tide seemed to be high whilst at Porth Hellick. From here I took the road back to town.

Garrison

Thursday 4th July 2013

A late afternoon stroll around the Garrison in the sunshine. The tide was high and you could smell the fresh sea on the light breeze around Woolpack Point. Lovely :)

Wednesday Walkies

Wednesday 3rd July 2013

Walkies!! I've not been out as much as I'd like recently. The reasons being hayfever mostly, followed by being a bit of a slob!
Anyway, its July now and although I'm still sneezing, it's time to get fit again! Kicked this walk off with a few miles...
