We are a Visit England Accredited Hotel with rooms situated throughout 4 floors. The hotel has no lift due to the grade 2 listed building status meaning we can't make alterations to install one. We will of course, help with luggage though.

Our food is traditional and cooked using fresh produce of fish, meats, vegetables & dairy sourced from Scilly & Cornwall where possible. Our style is not nouvelle cuisine or a fancy Michelin Star type restaurant.

Our experienced staff offer excellent & attentive service, far beyond the normal expectations for a 2 star rated hotel

Our swimming pool is 8 metres x 4 metres and so neither small, or Olympic size! An unusual extra facility compared to even many other hotels. Its size is governed by available space, and is covered in and heated.

Our rooms are comfortable & furnished to the same standard. All are en suite with either bath, shower or both, and some are compact, hence the special offer lower tariff for these.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Hugh Town, at the quieter side and is ideally positioned for easy access to the harbour for inter island boats to the inhabited islands of Tresco, Bryher, St Agnes & St Martins.

Walking Around Peninnis

It's been a while but now we're open fully, I can get out a little between split shifts to enjoy the beautiful walks and Scilly views. I really enjoyed walking around Peninnis and down into Old Town in the warm sunshine; I didn't take a coat. Amazing to think we'd had snow flurries 2 days previously!

St Mary's Harbour

The snow flurries have gone and the weather feels a lot warmer in comparison to the last couple of days.
The sun is out and the view across St Mary's harbour and the sands of Town Beach is lovely this morning.

We Are Now Open For 2013

We have now opened fully for the 2013 season, as of Monday 11th March.

The weather was a little nippy on Monday & Tuesday, with snow flurries! This is very rare for Scilly!! It didn't really settle though.

Lovely Spring Feel

There's a fresh breeze today but its not too cold and what's even better is the clear blue skies and sunshine! Beautiful!! Its like a lovely spring feel to the islands. Too good to miss, I took a quick stomp around the Garrison at lunchtime to take in the fresh sea air. The seas were a lovely blue/green colour and shimmering the bright sunlight.
I've not been around the Garrison for a few weeks as I've been away. You just can't beat Scilly to come back home to!

Scilly Sunshine

Apologies for the lack of posts. I've been away jollying it up skiing in Italy before taking a look about in Devon & Cornwall. I'm back now and slowly working through the pile of paperwork. Catch up is always the downfall of going away.
Anyway, here is a couple of the harbour from Buzza taken on Sunday, with the burial chamber in the foreground.
