St Mary's in the Sunshine

Monday 11th June 2012

As it's back to work on Monday, sure enough, the sun comes out a blazing! Oh well, at least with split shifts I can escape in the sunshine on a walk.
Monday afternoon brought a walk of 6.7 miles heading out of town, through Old Town, past Tremelethen Farm and up Kitty Down. This is where I took my first photo of the day, looking across to Porth Hellick.
From here I headed up and down past Mount Todden onto the coastal path (2nd photo) and around to Pelistry. The third photo is of Pelistry and Toll's Island.
It's a bit of a walk to cross the soft sand to get across Pelistry beach and back onto the coastal path. I may have looked a bit like John Cleese in his ministry of silly ("Scilly" perhaps?!) walking along in an odd way so as not to fill up my shoes with sand!
Once back on the coastal path it's around to Watermill Cove and up over Innisidgen and around to Bar Point. I took a couple of pictures here. One just before Bar Point looking towards St Martins, and then one of Bar Point with Tresco in the background. You may see a little speck in the sky on the right side of the shot on this one, which is the British International Helicopter coming into land at Tresco.
This is the last picture I took before heading back into town.
